Jesus says in Revelations 3:15 & 16: “I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were one or the other! So because you are luke-warm – neither hot nor cold – I am about to spit you out of my mouth.”
I think that this is one of the most alarming statements that Jesus ever made. It’s easy for us to be or feel lukewarm in all areas of our lives–a time in our life when we may feel as if we are just going through the motions. Some may describe their Christian life as a roller coaster filled with ups and downs, twists and turns. If sports ministry is a part of your life then you probably have felt the same feelings in your ministry. So what can we do to get IT back? Here are just a few reminders of who we are in Christ!
Remember who you are – we are all humans, we are bound to make mistakes. We don’t have to be everything to everyone, and its okay to say “no”.
Remember back to where and when your fire started. It started with a love and passion to see Christ’s kingdom expanded.
Remember why you are here: To worship (Psalms 95:6), And to serve (Joshua 24:15).
Remember whom you serve. You serve a King, your King. Not a…Church, Ministry, People, or yourself.
Finally remember who loves you. If you are like me we all go through some tough drought-like times…in our lives, in our walk, and even in our ministry. We know ultimately where to get rejuvenated.
Why are we so stubborn to go there! So, go there and get HOT!
