I plan to write further about this but right now I just feel sad, almost sick as I try to grasp what happened here.
– A referee stabbed a player after a confrontation about a red card (the player died shortly after)
– The crowd stoned and dismembered the body of the referee
– The referee’s head was placed on a stake in the middle of the field

Rules will never stop this kind of brokenness. Only the transforming power of the gospel can change men’s hearts and reverse the trend of corruption.
Please pray for the families involved and the destruction of the idol of sports that creates the atmosphere for this kind of tragedy.
