Here are two videos from YouTube about four players and two coaches from the Seattle Seahawks where they talk about themselves, some of their football experiences, and their understanding and love for Jesus Christ.
The first one is 3 minutes, the second 14 minutes. Both are worth your time and worth passing along to others who share a passion about sports and the way Christianity and sports mesh together.
Also, here is an article from ESPN.com about Russell Wilson and the
way his compassion for the weak has touched some in the city of Seattle.
As I read this article and watch these videos, I am reminded of how much I enjoy getting to know these incredible athletes beyond the field of play, to find out more about them as human beings. I am also reminded of how their abilities move me to admire them, to love the God who so gifted them, and to strive to maximize my gifts for God’s glory as they do with theirs.
Glorifying God isn’t limited to great athletic feats. It can be done from hospital rooms to watching the Super Bowl. So let’s allow their example to move us to such heights in our own lives.
