Sports Bridge the Growing Divide between USA and Iran!
Last February, relations between the USA and Iran were worsening. The USA had existing sanctions against Iran. UN inspectors had found advanced centrifuges at one of Iran’s nuclear plants.

“Some of these injuries can unintentionally become very serious. So we want to make sure our children have fun, put are also protected,” said Kathleen Maloney, superintendent of Port Washington Schools.
We also want to call attention to the times that we see sports being redeemed. Wish I could say there were as many examples, but I can’t…..Either way, I look forward to seeing examples of redemption in and through sports. Here is one.

I wonder how many coaches think coaching is not that big of a deal. I wonder how many players think playing is not that big of a deal. I wonder how many referees/officials (like myself) think officiating is not that big of a deal. I wonder how many fans think cheering (positively or negatively) is not that big of a deal.
In the 2012 South Metro Wrestling Tournament in Georgia, Demetrius de Moors faced an opponent that caused him to ask the question, “If I could only wrestle one time, only experience this one time, how would I want it to be?”
“I try to give my players leadership. I teach them the plays and let them call their own plays during the game.” He went on to say, “Besides that, I can’t tell my kids just to roll over. I am teaching them to play hard.”
