Recently, I read The Big Miss by Hank Haney about his years of coaching Tiger Woods.
If you’re at all interested in golf, coaching, or individual athletic development, you will find this a good and easy read. One of my main takeaways from the book was:
Even the great ones need a coach!
That is if you’re serious about improving.
While there are many things that keep me from being a Tiger fan, one of the things I admire about him is his serious desire to improve. You are probably aware that he is on his third major swing modification since winning the Masters in 1997 by a record 12 shots. Those three swing modifications have involved three different coaches-Butch Harmon, Hank Haney, and now Sean Foley.
If you’re serious about improving as a sports minister, maybe it’s time for you to get a coach if you don’t already have. Check out the CSO network to see how CSO might help fill that need.
