A loyal blog reader sent me the following transcripted interview with University of Houston quarterback, Case Keenum (from an FCA website). It’s a good read. Below is Case responding on how to play for the glory of God.
STV: What does it mean to “do sports God’s way”?
CK: It means to not do it my way and to make sure I put Him first no matter what happens.
God calls us to use our abilities to our greatest potential for His glory, and that includes whenever we step on the field. It’s not to beat the guy next to you; it’s to recognize it as an opportunity from God to reveal His glory. It’s like the parable of the talents in Matthew 25. When you read that, you see that you’re to use all of your talents in whatever way you can.
