Ever thought of using a Fantasy Sports league for ministry? It’s a little outside-the-box for a sports ministry but it’s a context just like any other sport. Perhaps, even a better context than a traditional sport. Think of the community that forms around a fantasy sports league. The ones I’ve been a part of in the past have several messages posted a day on the message board and beyond that, was a source of constant conversation whenever I saw a fellow league member.
I recently read where 11% of the U.S. population plays one or more fantasy sports per year. Additionally, 22% of males between the ages of 18-49 play fantasy sports. Looks like fertile grounds for ministry to me.
Has anyone out there tried this with their ministry? How has it gone? Would love to hear about it.
