I recently came across this quote from Vince Lombardi:
Winning is not a sometime thing; it’s an all time thing. You don’t win once in a while, you don’t do things right once in a while, you do them right all the time. Winning is habit. Unfortunately, so is losing.
How does that quote strike you? Do you believe it? He seems to be saying that if you do things right, you will win consistently. I suppose there’s some truth to that.
There can be such a fine line between winning and losing though. You can play great…and lose. You can play horrible…and win. Winning as a measure of success is always dependent on your opponent and their performance. It seems like there would be a better way to define success biblically.
