Even though February is halfway done, look back at 2015 as 2016
speeds on (hopefully not out of control!) and all that’s to come this year.
Maybe you’re like me and need that reminder of the big picture and where you’re headed.
I’m not wired to think “big picture” all the time and am constantly finding myself getting caught up in the minute details that can only bog down and help me get lost.
When someone comes alongside me and says, “What is your main goal?” I have to stop completely, and hope my look on my face is not too blank.
It takes me a while to reply for any number of reasons. Maybe it’s because my goal is too lofty or so big that I can’t see how it could be broken down. Or not tangible enough. Maybe it’s how I haven’t given it enough thought and prayer.
Just maybe though, my response time is slow because I’ve made the goal about me. What I want to accomplish through my actions and my steps to get there in the best way I see fit. See any problems?
This next bunch of questions is such a good bite for chewin’ on as you continue in your ministry and where God has you right now.
“If you work in a great institution: Do you remember the mission? Do you remember why you went to work there, what you meant to do, what the institution meant to you when you viewed it from the outside, years ago, and hoped to become part of it?”
The original post can be found here, and I hope you take a look at it and ask yourself “Do you remember your mission?” I pray that you do, as I pray for myself that I would remember Who lends His “gracious Spirit [to] lead me forward on a firm footing.” (Ps. 143:10b)
